Collective Bargaining – When It Works

Saskatoon – SEIU-West began collective bargaining with Extendicare (Canada) Inc. in April of 2011. Typically, this negotiation follows the pattern set by the SEIU-West negotiations with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations and the provincial health care provider collective agreement. After five meeting days, the parties concluded a tentative agreement. A ratification vote was conducted by SEIU-West on May 31. The result of this vote was that over 85% of the SEIU-West members who cast their ballot voted in favour of accepting the tentative agreement. The Employer has also ratified the tentative agreement. Bargaining Update no. 4 – Extendicare

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED!

The parties met on May 9 and 10 and at the end of the day walked away with a tentative settlement for a new Collective Agreement covering the period April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2012.
