A shop steward filed a grievance because a member was denied vacation. The member later noticed she was booked off on vacation for those days after all. She concluded that she had been granted the vacation. To be certain they asked management to confirm the vacation was granted and management advised that the member had not been granted vacation. Then the Union Rep sent the manager an email, indicating the members’ shifts had been changed inside posted and confirmed. Management has now agreed to grant these as vacation days and this grievance was resolved at step one. Yay!
