The Aboriginal Committee together with the Education department are pleased to be offering a new course for SEIU-West Members.
We will be accepting 30 participants to attend this two day Turtle Island training opportunity.
This course is designed for non-Aboriginal workers who want to learn more about Aboriginal Issues and who want to work in solidarity with their First Nations and Metis brothers and sisters. Issues to be discussed include history, spirituality, creating a representative workforce and opening the union to aboriginal activists.
This course will provide a comfortable and supportive environment in which to explore your attitudes, ideas and questions.
Both non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal workers are welcome to enroll in this class and is available to any member, steward, union leader or activist in your unit. Please share this information widely with your membership as we want to fill our class!
Please note the following information:
- Please complete the Turtle Island Training Registration Form AND an expression of interest form and return them to Cindy via fax 1-877-221-2212 or scan and email completed forms to firstname.lastname@example.org NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 28th to register.
- Successful applicants will be notified that week to book their Union Leave.
- If for some reason something comes up after you are accepted and you cannot attend, please notify Cindy at 1-888-999-7348 or 306-652-1011 ext. 2287 as soon as possible.
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED ON BOTH DAYS BY THE UNION.
